Fantaisie Nocturne by Designer Andres Aquino at the Couture Fashion Week in NYC
The couture collection entitled "Fantaisie Nocturne" by Andres Aquino was shown on the runway at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday February 18, 2012 during Couture Fashion Week New York.
The collection is part sophistication and part whimsical art. Sumptuous fabrics, embroideries and exquisite trimmings feature prominently in the collection. The show will be presented in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria.
The sculptures and illustrations of many Parisian artists serve as the inspiration for Andres Aquino's new collection, fusing Parisian sophistication with New York City energy. "I love art, poetry, architecture, dance and history," says Mr. Aquino. "All of these influence the components of color, romance and fun I strive to incorporate into my fashion designs. Paris has always inspired poets and artists, and New York energizes the artistic creative process."
A writer, poet, successful entrepreneur, accomplished fine art photographer and fashion designer, Andres Aquino is also the founder and producer of Couture Fashion Week in New York. He has received multiple awards for his contribution to the fashion industry including the EL Award (El Diario New York), Legacy Award (Latin Fashion Week, Washington, D.C.), and Style Fashion Leader & Inspiration Award (SUNY Westchester Community College), among others. His fashion designs are consistently classic and elegant in their construction, with a focus on allowing the wearer's natural beauty and style to shine through. His creations have been shown on the runway in Dubai, Romania, India, the Dominican Republic and USA among other locations, and his work has been featured in top fashion publications and media around the world.

Jet Art Fashions by Princess Tarinan Von Anhalt at the NYC Couture Fashion 2012
Jet Art Fashions has merged the spirit of art with the use of modern technology taking fashion into a new era. The company’s line of ultra chic Premium Denims, one-of-a-kind artwear was created from an original art form, Jet Art, by directing paint into the blast of a jet engine, a force several times greater than hurricane winds. The 500-degree heat and enormous velocity blend the colors and welds the paint onto these novel denim canvases, making every pair of jeans unique, made with man's greatest transportation tool of its time, the Jet Plane. Capturing a moment in time, this can never be reproduced even by the artist.
Princess Tarinan Von Anhalt, using the highly original technique developed by her late husband, the world renowned expressionist artist Prince Jurgen Von Anhalt, is continuing his legacy. During his illustrious career Prince Von Anhalt created unique paintings often executed amidst the roll of TV cameras and before crowds of enthralled spectators at airports in such cities as Acapulco, St. Tropez, London, Miami, Dallas, Palm Beach and Palm Springs among others. The artist was featured on major television programming including Good Morning America and the Discovery Channel.
Prince Von Anhalt’s art has been acquired by collectors worldwide including top names in business, government and finance, royalty, celebrities and major corporations.
Princess Tarinan, the first woman in the world to get behind the jet engine, has extended her late husband’s artistic vision into the field of luxury fashion. Her vibrant and colorful line of wearable art debuting at Couture, never seen before, includes the most expensive premium denims ever offered. As Tarinan explains, “you are not buying jeans, you are collecting art."
Included in the collection are extravagant silk scarves rendered from Jet Art Paintings, onto the finest silk chiffon.
Major Jet Art paintings by Jurgen von Anhalt from a private collection will be available for viewing outside the Grand Ballroom on the evening of the show only.

Tyler Merell began her career in Boston, Massachusetts acting and singing while attending Tufts University. She won the coveted Goddard Acting Award at Tufts, two years in a row, the prestigious “Lotta M. Crabtree Grant for Actors.”
Throughout her career Ms. Merell has maintained ties to her classical training in theatre and music as she has developed a vast range, playing roles dramatic to comic, on stage and on camera. In New York, she has been delighted to perform the most gorgeous music and a variety of characters, utilizing her unique singing range of more than five and a half octaves and acting skills - from Musical Theatre to the American Songbook, Opera to Popular. (From Rodgers & Hammerstein to Lloyd Webber to Gershwin to The Bell Song, Pace mio Dio, Queen of the Night, Strauss Waltzes to Adam Lambert!)

The year 2008 was a fruitful one for the brand; a year in which Tlale was voted the most stylish person at the annual SA Style Awards, he was also voted Mzansi's Star Fashion Designer at the Mzansi Star Awards and also nominated at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Awards 2008, along with many other accolades and nominations. He was also invited to judge the Elle New Talent 2008 competition, a place where he began his journey in fashion.
It was also in 2008 that david Tlale launched his Green Collection for the voluptuous women of Mzansi; including the likes of Judith Sephuma, Lebo Mashile, KG Moeketsi and Anele Mdoda

NYC Fashion Week - Nedret Taciroglu Design at the Waldorf Astoria 2012
Acclaimed Turkish designer Nedret Taciroglu will make her much-anticipated USA debut during New York’s Couture Fashion Week in September 2008 at the Westin Times Square in the heart of the Big Apple. Ms. Taciroglu will present her latest collection entitled “Istanbul: The City of the Sultans."
The inspiration for her Nedret Taciroglu's latest collection is the highly esteemed and important “Sultans’ Signatures.” The Sultans’ Signatures were not created by the Sultans themselves, but by calligraphers during the Ottoman Empire. Each one is distinctive and reflects the ruler’s power through intricate designs featuring both letters and patterns. In order to introduce the Sultans’ Signatures to the world, Mrs. Taciroglu blended history with modernism over a period of five months to produce a 30-piece collection. She used the signatures of Mehmet the Conqueror and Suleyman the Magnificent, among others. The designs also feature Swarovski crystals, chiffon and draping as well as the use of red and beige emphasizing the glory of the Ottomans.
Ms. Taciroglu’s creations are reminiscent of clothes worn during the Ottoman Empire, which lasted for 600 years and acted as an important geographical, cultural, political and social bridge between the East and the West. Her collections reflect the historical heritage left by the Ottoman Empire to modern day Turkey.
After earning a degree in interior design at Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul, Nedret Taciroglu entered the fashion industry as a model in 1976, and few years later founded Nedo Leather, where she worked designing, producing and exporting fine leather garments to clients in Paris, New York, Dallas and Houston. Her loyal clientele numbers in the thousands around the world and she was proud to create an 18-piece collection for former First Lady Nancy Reagan. In early 2002, with the encouragement of many friends in the fashion business, Ms. Taciroglu launched Nedo Collection, which quickly came to be appreciated by international buyers for its special fabrics and accessories. She is the only Turkish designer to stage her own show in Milan for three consecutive years, where she received rave reviews.
Nedo Collection is targeted at the elegant, confident, well-traveled and successful woman. Fabrics are predominantly fine all-natural wools, cottons and silks made in Turkey. Nedo Weekend is a complimentary line of casual wear consisting of linen suits, sporty shorts, bottoms, and jeans with a target customer that appreciates comfortable and elegant clothes for less formal occasions. Ms. Taciroglu also designs home accessories.
